I'm not sure if I even have followers anymore, but I'v decided just TODAY to start blogging again! I haven't really been doing much to my hair because I have been in school, finishing up a second Masters's degree.  This was a 5 year program, and I will finally be graduating next month! I am beyond excited.  It's gonna feel so weird to have free time again. I plan to fill that time doing all the things I love: traveling, being outside as much as possible this summer, spending time with family and friends, and getting back into my music (I sing... or at least, I used to! LOL)

Hey Coily Girls! I'm back! I've been so busy, and only have time now because I am still on my summer vacation. I am a third year grad student, working on my second Master's degree in School Psychology. I have 3 classes, a practicum and an internship left.  I plan to get a doctorate next, but I will take a break in between. My fiance' and I have been trying to start a family, so that is my main priority right now. We are also getting married in December, so there's a lot on my plate right now.

I had some serious issues with my hair this year.  For starters, my stylist got a sudden case of amnesia and forgot which shade to color my hair. She accidentally went about 3 shades darker than my norm.  When she tried to get it back to the right color (which involved basically dying my hair over again), I noticed a whole bunch of straight pieces in my hair.  Needless to say, I was PISSED. I take very good care of my hair, and at this time, my hair was past my shoulders when it was curly.  I ended up having to do another bc, because the straight ends left my hair looking JACKED UP.

This was in like May, and I'm still cutting straight pieces out.  My sideburns and nape of my hair barely curl at all anymore.  I 'm nor happy with my hair at all. I have basically been wearing it in a puff since then because I can't stand looking at straight pieces.  I think it should look better by my next trim
because I've let it grow out a lot.

You may not notice it all that much, but for me, it's a drastic difference.  I hate it. I've been deep conditioning like crazy, trying to nurse my hair back to health.  Next, I'm going to keep my hair in twists for about 3 months. Hopefully, my hair will be back to normal before Christmas.

Hey Coily Girls!! I never intended on being gone as long as I was. Tons of things were going on in my life. First and foremost, I was going through issues with my health.  Then it seemed like a long stretch of bad things were happening to people around me, including my bf losing his best friend. I needed to be there for him. Also, I went back to school to get another master's degree and was totally unprepared for how much of a toll that would take on me. Point blank... I just haven't been up to blogging!

Thankfully, things are much better now. I'm on spring break from teaching, and it is MUCH NEEDED. I can already feel the stress leaving my body. I plan to enjoy each day to the fullest!  Also, my bf and I are going to Aruba in a few weeks, and I'm soo looking forward to that.  I hope you've all been well! It's nice to reconnect with everyone again.

Here are some hair pics.  I haven't been doing anything extravagant with my hair. It has grown some, but I have been really negligent with conditioning, so it's not growing as fast as it should.  (And I KNOW better, but sometimes it is what it is!)

Hey Coily Girls!! Happy July!!!  I've been very busy with end of school activities and I'm also teaching summer school which began this week.  In addition, I have gone through a lot in the past few months emotionally, financially, and health-wise, which just hasn't had me in the mood to blog. Thankfully, the storm has passed, and I feel like myself again!

I just got a trim and color last week, and this is actually the best cut I think I've gotten. My regular girl was on vacation, so I got a much older stylist, and was reluctant at first. Turned out she did a much better job than my regular stylist. I told her I wanted to start going darker with my color, so she darkened my roots, and I love the result. I got a lot of compliments. Also, my hair has so much body after the cut she gave me. Not sure what she did differently, but my hair just lays better than it ever did.

Today, my bf and I are hitting the beach.  We will probably go to Wildwood.... haven't been there yet this year. I'm a Jersey Girl, so I grew up going to Seaside Heights (where Jersey Shore is taped), but that series has made "our beach" so trashy that I rarely go there anymore. Now all you see are fans and groupies of the show hanging out, and emulating the people on the show. Please.... lol.

Hey Coily Girls!!!!!!!

I've been gone for a minute, I know, so I decided it was WAY past time for a new post. Here's what's been going on with me. My bf and I went to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands for a much needed vacation last month!!!!  I will post a few pics from that. I wasn't feeling so good, so I did basically NOTHING to my hair the entire time we were there.  We had a great time, though... and although everything in the V.I. is overpriced, I plan on returning there again. I just loved the vibe on the island. We also got to take the ferry over to St. John. We wanted to go to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, but I don't have a passport. Maybe next time.

I didn't particularly care for the food there though. I am a huge fan of Caribbean food, but for some reason the food in St. Thomas was lacking something.  Maybe it was the restaurants we chose, but I was NOT a fan at all! There was only one place I enjoyed, and that was in St. John, and it wasn't even island cuisine.

OK, so I'm having technical difficulty posting pics, so I may have to come back and add them later.  As you can see, I have been growing out my color, so my roots are black, which is my natural hair color. I'm probably going to stick to the black and just do highlights from now on.
